A good start would be to ask other brides/grooms.  Start with the ones you know and then consider joining web forums to get more opinions.  You can also ask videographers for a list of their recent brides you can contact.  It is important to cosider each opinion, whether they got professional services or not.

When you talk to recent brides they will most likely overflow with information about their wedding and the services they had.  Here is a list of some questions to ask recent brides:

• If you had to pick between photography or videography, which would you choose?
• Why did you choose to have professional videography?
• How did you find your videographer?
• If you had to do it all over again, what would you do differently about your videography arrangements (if anything)?
• Were there any particular things you had in mind when shopping around for videography?
• What differences did you see between different videographers as you interviewed them?
• What “lessons-learned” have you come up with concerning your wedding videography?
• Do you know of any recent brides that wouldn’t mind answering these same questions?

After talking to several people, you will already start to develope a good idea of what you need to be looking for.  This will give you a great start on your own search for professional wedding videography.

This was filmed in HD format.  What can you learn from this?  Lighting makes a huge difference.  Igor filmed in dim lighting, so the quality is not  what it would have been in natural light or even a well lit place.  Think about that if your wedding takes place in the evening (and speak with your videographer about it).

Speaking of South Carolina, here is a music video of a wedding we filmed there.  George is from Florida, Irina is from California, but they got married in SC.  Ahh..love really does bring people together.   They had a gorgeous wedding.  There were so many wonderful details, as you will see.

As a wedding videographer I aim to capture all the memories of your wedding day in motion while keeping a low profile.  I’ve been asked how we get the “up close and personal” shots without really getting in anyone’s way.  The fact is that in the released video it looks like we are in the middle of all the action and excitement.

Two Secrets.  One- It’s all about being creative.  Sometimes we do have to get up close and personal with our cameras, but we do it so quickly and effortlessly that you might even forget we are there.  After all, who would want a wedding video with the videographer  filming  from one place for an hour? (I’m sorry to those who ended up with video in such fashion)  We aim to pass along the excitement of the day to the viewers.  This one is a great example.

The second secret is capturing impeccable audio.  We use devices such as wireless mics to capture the richness of the human voice making it stunning when shown in the video.  It gives you a movie feel, almost as if you are at the altar with the couple.  Even whispers can be heard!

Today I want to talk a bit about a growing trend in wedding videography. More and more creative talent is popping up all over the country that is just plain tired of the stereotypical “wedding video”. We are so excited about this trend. My own wedding video was that exact stereotype, a small part of the reason I wanted others to avoid this mistake.  After the onset of this new movement, there became an obvious difference between a regular wedding videographer and what some call a wedding “filmmaker”.  We consider ourselves filmmakers because we love telling a story with each wedding video.  We plan and edit your video that does more than just document your day. We do it in a way that brings you back to that day.  Why do we love watching a good movie? Because we like to be absorbed in the story. Relate to the characters; feel what they feel. Why should your wedding “film” be any different?

The best part? We love doing this. And we welcome this trend. We want to properly educate each bride in the value of a wedding video/film. Most commonly when a bride calls to book a videography team, her first question is “how much?” But does she really know what she is buying?

I want to leave you with some questions that you would not normally ask a videographer. But they are just as important. This is important so that you know exactly what you get when you get a video from us, or from anyone else. Hopefully this will help in getting you a high quality video that you will enjoy for years to come!

Before the wedding, video of the bride and the bridesmaid getting ready is usually taken. It is a general knowledge that wedding is the day of the couple but most especially the bride. So the preparations of the bride before the wedding will have some shots. Some additional shots that can be included are wedding gowns, accessories, bouquets, flower girl basket, ring bearer pillow and jewelries. Meanwhile, the groom and the groomsmen will also be taken some shots while preparing. But the shots of the bride will be more detailed than the groom shots. The groom will get to have a shot of getting boutonniere which is being placed by his mother. Also get a picture of the church, the altar and the flowers arrangement in the church. Arrival of guest as well as the departure of the bride from her house should be taken.

Arrival of the brides’ limo at the church should be taken. There are so many angles in the ceremony that should be taken so that is the reason it is important that there is more than one video that is used by the videographer. At the ceremony, it is very important to capture the wedding entourage walking down the aisle. But remember that the highlight of the wedding march is the bride walking down the aisle. All cameras should be available when it is the turn of the bride to walk in the aisle. The videographer should attend wedding rehearsals this is for knowing how to get the best shot and position while the couple is exchanging their wedding vows. Other cameras that are not focused on the bride and the groom can take shots of how the family of the couple reacts during the exchange of vows.

After the ceremony, shots could be taken while the couples have photos taken with their families, wedding entourage and friends. Take videos of the couple leaving the church as well as the limo of the couple headed for the wedding reception. There are some couples that will get a package that will include the wedding video be taken while they are on the road. This is very tricky and hard to cover and it will take a professional videographer to have good shots of this.

At the wedding reception, another videographer must be able to get shots of the place before the wedding party arrives. Take videos of the cake, the band and centerpieces on the table. Get to take shots of guest arriving at the reception but videographer must be aware when the couple arrives. As soon as the limo arrives in the reception, the shots should be started until the wedding party enters the reception. The reception is where most activities takes place such as the parents dance with their bride and groom, first dance of the couple, best man’s toast, cake cutting, garter removal and toss, bouquet toss, guestbook signings and speeches made by the bride and groom. Be aware of romantic moments of the couple like when they are asked by the guest to kiss. Also get shots of the gifts the couple received in their wedding. Capture moments of the guests saying their goodbyes and congratulating the couple. Taking video of the couple leaving the reception while they are being showered with confetti is a must.

Weddings have a lot of parts that is good for taking video. But videos can’t capture every single moment in a wedding. It is very important that the videographer is aware of what shots are important and what are not too important. This will help them anticipate what parts of the wedding should be given more focus when taken shots.
